About Rebecca

Hi! I’m Rebecca Vnuk, author of 3 Reader’s Advisory nonfiction titles: Read On…Women’s FictionWomen’s Fiction Authors: A Research GuideWomen’s Fiction: A Guide to Popular Reading Interests (co-authored by Nanette Donohue); as well as the best-selling The Weeding Handbook: A Shelf-by-Shelf Guide (ALA Editions, 2015).  (Whoo-hoo, I’m a best seller in library-land, at least!)

I am the Executive Director of LibraryReads. You can learn more about my career path on LinkedIn.  I was named LJ’s Fiction Reviewer of the Year in 2008, and I am also the 2010 winner of the Public Library Association’s Allie Beth Martin award, for my “unwavering dedication to books of any cover.” In 2010 I was named a Library Journal “Mover and Shaker”.

As an accomplished public speaker, I’ve done workshops and presentations on a number of library topics. (see more under the “Portfolio” tab!) With expertise in all aspects of collection management, extensive experience in weeding collections of all sizes, a passion for staff training, and years of annotating and book reviewing under my belt, I may be a good choice to speak at your library’s next training or in-service day. Feel free to contact me for more information, to discuss a consulting project, or schedule a workshop or program.

Want to listen to me? I’ve had the great fortune of appearing on the Circulating Ideas librarian podcast several times.
